Mural Wallpaper Installation in Parkland

The short answer

A mural in a Parkland home is sized to the exact wall, including a few inches of extra image on every edge for trimming. We prep the wall smooth, set a true vertical line, and hang panels in numbered order so the image stays continuous across every seam.

Families in Parkland use murals to turn ordinary rooms into something personal: a forest scene in a playroom, a soft cloud ceiling in a nursery, a city skyline behind a media room sofa, or a painterly landscape at the end of a long hallway. Because a mural is one image printed across many panels, the install has to be precise from the first strip to the last. We travel about 10 miles west from our Pompano Beach base to install murals in homes throughout 33067 and 33076. This page explains how we plan around room size, ceiling height and light so the picture you chose looks the way it did on screen.

Popular mural spots in Parkland homes

Bigger houses mean more candidate walls, and some work far better than others. Playrooms and kids' bedrooms are the most common requests, since a mural can set a theme without filling the room with stuff. Media rooms and bonus rooms upstairs get darker, moodier images. Dining rooms and breakfast nooks often get botanical or landscape scenes, and some homeowners choose a statement mural for the foyer wall that guests see first.

  • Playroom or child's bedroom: themed scenes, maps, skies
  • Nursery: soft, low-contrast imagery that will not overstimulate
  • Media or bonus room: dark landscapes, night skies, abstract art
  • Dining area: botanicals, gardens, painterly scenery
  • Foyer or stair wall: a single large statement image

Sizing a mural for tall or unusual walls

Custom murals are printed to dimensions you supply, so measurements need to be exact. In homes with high ceilings, vaulted rooms or stair walls, the height can vary across the wall, and a mural ordered for the shortest point will leave a gap at the tallest. We measure at several points and include bleed on all edges so the image can be trimmed cleanly at the ceiling, baseboards and side walls.

We also look at where the focal part of the image will land. On a tall wall, the most important detail usually belongs at eye level from the main seating spot, not in the dead center of the wall. Sharing a mockup with the supplier before printing avoids surprises.

Wall prep for a continuous image

Murals show surface flaws more than patterned papers because many have wide areas of flat color, such as a sky or a wash of watercolor. The light orange peel texture common in newer Broward homes can make those areas look mottled. We sand, skim where needed and prime with a wallcovering primer, which helps the panels slide into perfect alignment and come off later without damaging the drywall.

For peel-and-stick murals, prep matters even more. Those products cling only to smooth, clean, well-cured paint, and they can lift in warm rooms. In most Parkland rooms we recommend paste-applied murals for a longer-lasting result.

On installation day

We open every panel, check the numbering and look for printing defects before hanging anything. A true vertical line is marked for the first panel, and from there each strip is aligned to the image rather than to the wall edge. We give extra attention to details that cross seams, like a horizon line, branches or lettering, because those are where a mismatch would catch the eye.

Stair and double-height walls take longer because of the scaffolding setup, but a standard bedroom or playroom wall is usually completed in a single visit. Outlet and switch openings are cut neatly, and the covers go back on before we leave.

Light, humidity and how long the colors last

Florida sun is strong, and a mural across from a large unshaded window will lose some vibrancy over time. Curtains, blinds or UV window film help preserve the color. Indoor humidity also plays a role: a home that stays cooled at a consistent temperature keeps mural seams tight through the long wet season.

We install murals for Parkland families and also work in Coconut Creek, Margate, North Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton. Send us the mural you love and a photo of the wall, and we will tell you what measurements to order and what prep to expect.

What to expect

How a visit goes

  1. Clear scope before work begins

After measuring and checking the walls, we explain what prep is needed, how many rolls to order and how long the job should take.

  2. Patterns that line up

We plan seam placement around windows, doors and corners so repeats stay aligned from one strip to the next across the whole room.

  3. Respect for your home

Drop cloths go down first, paste is wiped off trim as we go, and we leave the room ready to use at the end of each day.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see your question? Call (561) 823-3201 and we’ll talk it through.

Can you measure the wall for my custom mural order?

Yes. We measure at several points, account for uneven ceilings and recommend how much bleed to add before you place the order.

Do you install murals on stairwell walls?

Yes. Stair walls need scaffolding and careful planning so the image sits correctly from both the top and bottom of the stairs.

Are murals safe for a nursery?

Many murals are printed on non-woven or paper bases with water-based inks. Check the product details, and we can help you pick a suitable option.

Peel-and-stick or pasted mural: which lasts longer?

In most Florida rooms a pasted mural holds better. Peel-and-stick can lift in warm, humid spaces or on textured walls.

How long does mural installation take?

A single standard wall is typically done in one day. Tall or multi-wall murals take longer.

Ready to talk about your walls?

Tell us which room you are thinking about, where you live and what paper you have in mind. We will set up a visit to measure and look at the surface.
